Mwtradex is intended for use by individuals aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that an account belongs to a minor, we will take reasonable steps to remove the associated data.

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password credentials upon registration.
• Business & Listing Information: Business registration details, physical address, product/service listings, and media uploads.
• Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and device information gathered automatically when you use the platform.
• Essential Session Data: A single login-session cookie/token used to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your data for the following purposes:

• To operate, maintain, and publish the Mwtradex marketplace directory.
• To facilitate communication and trade connections between buyers and sellers.
• To enforce our terms of service, prevent fraud, and verify listed businesses.
• To communicate updates, administrative notices, and platform changes.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

Public information you include in business listings (e.g., contact numbers, business location) will be visible to other platform users, according to the visibility settings you choose. We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that help us run Mwtradex, and only to the extent needed for them to provide their service:

• Supabase: database hosting and user authentication.
• Cloudflare: website hosting and content delivery.
• Resend: transactional email delivery (e.g., account confirmation, notifications).
• Legal Obligations: when required by law enforcement or regulatory authorities in Malawi.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and listing data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile data; some records (such as past inquiries tied to a business you contacted) may be retained by the other party for their own reasonable recordkeeping unless they separately delete them. You may request full deletion at any time using the contact details below.

6. Data Security & Storage

We implement technical and organizational security measures — including encrypted database storage, strict row-level access controls, and secure socket layers (SSL) — to protect your data. Data may be stored on secure cloud infrastructure located outside Malawi. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify affected users and the relevant authority without undue delay, as required by applicable law.
